TOUR PREP + FAQS

  • Valid Passport - make sure your passport is up to date

    India Tourist Visa (you can apply online at indianvisaonline.gov.in)

    Travel Medical Insurance for travel dates while in India is required

    Photocopy Passport and keep copy somewhere hidden in luggage

    Some USD cash for emergency backup

  • Loose lightweight clothing

    Long sleeved cotton or linen tunics are very comfortable over loose pants

    Good walking shoes or sandals

    Hat, Sunglasses

    Scarf or shawl

    Socks

    Shoulder bag or small backpack that can be closed/zipper

    Passport/Money belt (for your passport, credit card and cash worn underneath clothes)

    Small suitcase

    Notepad, pen

    Wallet/Coin purse for daily cash (as many shops take Indian Rupees)

  • Take probiotics prior to trip for at least two weeks, helps gut health

    Highly recommend getting Typhoid Vaccine and Tetanus shot

    Make sure you are in good health as we will be walking daily

    You are required to purchase travel insurance while traveling with the Textile Tour

  • Breakfast and Dinner is not included in Textile Tour

    Lunch is included each day

  • If you are bringing your cellphone to India, please research if your phone will work in India, may need to be unlocked prior to leaving Canada/USA/Europe

  • The textile tour starts and finishes in Jaipur, India. Jaipur International Airport is located about 12 km outside the city center of Jaipur. There are 3 options to get to Jaipur.

    Flight: Domestic flight from New Delhi airport to Jaipur airport (1 hour flight) - this is fastest route.

    Train: book tickets via IRCTC www.irctc.co.com

    • Vande Bharat Express 20978 (Delhi Cant 6:28pm to Jaipur 10:05pm)

    • Shatabdi Express 12015 (New Delhi Railway Stn 06:10am to Jaipur 10:35am)

    • FYI, If you are staying in New Delhi prior to the textile tour, the Shatabdi Express is a great express train with minimum stops, business class, meals/chai and a comfortable experience.

    Road: Uber Intercity (book on Uber App) or hire private taxi from airport. 

  • March is a perfect time of year to travel to Jaipur. The average temperature in March is 28C with a low of 16C, creating a comfortable environment for visitors to explore. 

    October is also a wonderful time to experience Jaipur. With average daytime temperatures around 33°C and evenings cooling to about 19°C, the weather is warm but comfortable for exploring.

  • Our March tour is limited to 5 people. Our October tour is still intimate and capped at a maximum of 10.

  • You are required to purchase travel insurance while traveling with the Textile Tour.

  • Each participant will be required to sign a waiver agreement prior to the textile tour (via email) releasing Laura Chenoweth and Brij Udaiwal from liability for accidents, health issues or delays.

  • Your roundtrip international flight, your hotel accommodation and your personal transport getting to and from Jaipur
